Delores Edwards, Creator + Owner – mama said
mama said was born out of creator and owner, Delores Edwards’s entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to build a business from
lifelong memories. A successful producer, writer and journalist Delores tapped into her creative and entrepreneurial skills to turn mama said from an idea into a reality.
Creating the company gives Delores an opportunity to expand her creativity in a whole new way. It also brings her back to her childhood roots and love of design. Because she loved to sew as a kid, her first paid job was working at The Costume Collection, a professional theatrical costume shop in New York City, making costumes for theatre, film and TV. One of her proudest moments was making a pair of 18th century doublets. She was 15.
Learning the ins and outs of starting a business online from coming up with a name, building a website to marketing the business are challenges she welcomes as Delores brings to fruition her idea inspired by her mom.
